Do Not Bid Me Leave
If I could somehow
stop the hands of time
I would not let another moment pass.
But in this instant I commit the crime
Of saying I'll survive. And so, alas
I've given you the notion that, alone,
I'll still be every bit of what I am
While I'm with you. But how could you have known,
When I have never made you understand
That everything you see can only be
As long as there is You to fuel the flames
Of inspirations burning within me?
I've seen the image of all that remains
And I cannot allow belief that you
Could walk away and never think to grieve
Because you did not know my life was through.
So spare this heart... and do not bid me leave. |
