Sitting alone in Tara Nar

by Delphianne

Life is funny...she thought to herself. Her home had been destroyed and she was thrust out into a world she had only known from her tree. She had set out to learn what had become of her grove of trees and how to reverse the damage done. A quest she was never sure she could fulfill. Time had passed and she had all but given up. Finding a new home and new friends in Tel'Ruid had done that. Now the quest she had given up on had found her and threatened to destroy everything she held dear. Time was running out.

Regeas Maletite, a corrupted, power hungry druid had come to the glade. It had been he that had forced Delphi from her tree and destroyed her grove all those years ago. That time she had escaped him before he could perform the ritual that would steal away her life force and restore his youth to him. This time she knew that no matter where she might try to hide...there would be no escape.

Her thoughts turned now to the boy Geoffery. He had taken his own life inside the Silver Arrow when his ruse was discovered. Delphi thought it very sad that a life be ended so young. Some good had come of the affair at least. She knew now what Regeas intended to do.

When the moons of Sosaria align this Sunday night he will begin the ritual that will bind her...and destroy her. According to the astronomers of Moonglow it would happen at 10:00 Central Yew time. Delphi's only hope is that the ritual be disrupted. If Maletite cannot complete the ritual it would be fifty years before his next chance. Already very old and feeble, Delphianne doubted he would last that long.

Maletite is more powerful then he seems...she knew that. It would take many strong adventurers to defeat him. In her weakened state she knew she would be able to do nothing alone. She readied herself to go to the Arrow and seek aid from her friends and strangers alike.
