The man stared at the note, amused at the thought that someone had watched him. He was even more impressed to find this note where no one else could possibly have looked. For that reason alone, there was no denying that this letter was meant for him. He read over the words again, grinning a quiet grin. This was most interesting. Most interesting indeed.
Greetings ancient scion,

I have been watching you for quite some time. You are not like normal individuals. Lord British's way is not your way. Your path lies in the path of Darkness. You know this to be true.

You are not alone. There are others who share these views. Only together can we make these views replace those of Lord British's. This evening we meet in Deceit upon the 8th hour. If you are interested in putting your mark upon this realm, then you will be there.

He rubbed the thick red hair of his beard absently as he took one last look at the note. So it is to be in Deceit, is it? The grin returned. Well, what better reason than to visit my old home than another gathering of this sort?

He folded the letter, his thumb smearing blood onto the parchment. Looking down at the desiccated corpse, he allowed himself a brief chuckle. He reminded himself to ask The Shadow how he managed to place a note inside the body of a wandering healer...
